What is the MAWSA Executive?

The MAWSA Executive is made up of eleven student volunteers. One President, two Vice Presidents and nine Executive members who represent different groups on Massey University’s Wellington campus.

Together, the Executive governs the Massey at Wellington Students’ Association (MAWSA). This means that, as a group, they provide oversight of MAWSA operations and set the future direction of MAWSA.

Having elected students govern MAWSA enables the organisation to speak out on behalf of Massey Wellington Students.

Why become a MAWSA Executive

It is a voluntary position filled with perks! Not only will you have a sense of achievement from solving student issues, this position will provide a variety of skills which will come in handy for future employment. Not to mention there is a ton of free food and regular team bonding. There is even a small remuneration for your involvement in MAWSA’s activities.

How to become an Executive

In semester two every year MAWSA runs elections for Massey students to choose the Executive team for the next year. The elections are broken into three parts:

  1. Students apply for Executive positions and are endorsed by a fellow student.
  2. Executive candidates campaign to show why students should vote for them.
  3. Massey Wellington students vote for the best candidates for each Executive role.
