Merry Christmas from mawsa!

November 24th, 2011

We would like to thank all our members, our staff, our executive and everyone we have worked with for the wonderful 2011 year we have had.
This year has been incredible, with a sold out Orientation, an exclusive Kids of 88 concert, a new and improved Magneto, website and socail media presence and more importantly, greater interaction with our members. mawsa has managed to accomplish a lot in a short time frame this year, and although we may not be the same next year, we wish everyone Seasons’ Greetings, a safe and merry Christmas and a happy New Year!

mawsa Summer hours

November 24th, 2011

Hey Summer school kids, wanting to know when mawsa will be open during Summer School?
We’ll be keeping to our normal hours of 9-5 Monday to Friday, with our full range of services, until December 21st and reopening January 9th. Next year we will keep you updated on how VSM has affected our services!

Good luck with Summer School, and happy holidays to those enjoying the weather!

Don’t forget to vote!

November 24th, 2011

Hey guys please remember to vote in tomorrow’s general elections. Not only is this an important time for University students, as who you vote for could determine funding for tertiary issues among other things, but also it is important to vote for the sake of New Zealand, with the voting system we use up for debate.

There are plenty of polling booths available around Massey, including Wellington High School and Toi Whakaari.

Double check your enrollment details at www.heykiwi.org.nz to get some free NZ music, visit www.elections.org.nz to enrol to vote, or visit www.facebook.com/IvoteNZ to ask the orange guy a question.

CoCA Blow Out party!

October 13th, 2011

Hey all you ladies and gents, feeling a need to celebrate the end of the academic year (well, almost, you still have exams)? mawsa, in conjunction with Club CoCA will be holding the first annual Blow Out party over in the Museum Building (Block 10).

It is being held on Friday 21st October from midday til 6pm* in the Museum Building courtyard. Come along for a free BBQ frim 12 til 2.30, followed by a live band from 2.30 til 4, and finally live sets from Buster and DJ B.Lo from 4 til 6pm.

If that doesn’t sound sweet enough, let us sweeten the deal by letting you know about the near criminally cheap deals on drinks: $3 beer and $3 wines. Couldn’t get drinks this cheap unless you happen to be a female in Estab on Wednesdays.

So head on down to the Museum building, check out the free food, free music and (almost) free drinks next Friday, and celebrate the end of the year in style.

*weather permitting
